Omaha Hi-Lo: General Overview

Omaha Hi-Lo (also known as Omaha/8 or better) is often times viewed as one of the most complicated but well-loved poker games. It’s a game that, even more than normal Omaha poker, aims for action from every level of players. This is the chief reason why a once irrelevant game, has grown in popularity so quickly.
Omaha hi lo begins just like a normal game of Omaha. 4 cards are given out to each player. A round of betting follows where players can bet, check, or fold. Three cards are given out, this is known as the flop. A further sequence of betting happens. Once all the players have either called or dropped out, a further card is flipped on the turn. an additional sequence of betting happens and then the river card is revealed. The gamblers must attempt to put together the strongest high and low 5 card hands using the board and hole cards.
This is the point where a few entrants often get confused. Unlike Texas Holdem, in which the board can be everyone’s hand, in Omaha hi/lo the player has to utilize exactly three cards from the board, and precisely two cards from their hand. No more, no less.
